The biggest barrier for SMEs isn't always cost, it's that you can't ask for a tool you've never seen. Software could probably save you hours a week, but nobody's ever shown you what's possible for a business like yours.
So instead of asking you to write a brief, we come to you. We spend a working day alongside you and your team. We'll observe how enquiries arrive, how jobs get booked, how invoices get chased, and how results are reported. Then we show you what's possible today, including the AI tools most businesses don't know exist.

We agree the date, who we will shadow, and anything you would rather we did not disturb. We sign a non-disclosure agreement if you want one. You do not need to prepare a thing.

We watch the work
We sit with whoever answers the phone, opens the post, writes the quotes and books the jobs. We are looking for the moments where information gets retyped, forgotten, or chased, and where hours quietly go missing.

We show you what is possible
Over a cup of tea we show you real examples: dashboards, automations and AI helpers built for businesses like yours. Then we talk through which of them would matter most here, and which would not.

A plain-English report: the pain-points we found, the opportunities in order of impact, and what we would build first, each with a fixed price. Build all of it, some of it, or none of it.

Questions we hear a lot

How much does the Discovery Day cost?
A simple fixed fee, agreed when you book, with no obligation to build anything afterwards. Ask us about the current price and any offers when you get in touch. If you go on to commission a build, we credit part of the fee against it.
Will it disrupt the team?
Barely. We sit alongside people while they do what they normally do, ask the odd question, and stay out of the way when it is busy. Most teams forget we are there by mid-morning. We are not auditing anyone; we are looking for the moments where information gets retyped, forgotten or chased.
Do we need to prepare anything?
No. A normal working day is exactly what we want to see. If you have a list of things that annoy you, bring it, but we will find plenty on our own. We sign a non-disclosure agreement beforehand if you would like one.
What if you find nothing worth building?
Then we say so. You still get the report, including the small process fixes that cost nothing, and we point you to anything off-the-shelf that would do the job. We would rather lose a build than sell you one you do not need.
Can the Discovery Day be done remotely?
We strongly prefer to be on site, because the useful details live on whiteboards, in vans and in the way the phone gets answered. For fully remote teams we run it over video across a day, with screen sharing. Ask and we will be honest about which will work better for you.
Which areas do you cover?
We are based in Nottingham and regularly work across the Midlands and the North: Derby, Leicester, Birmingham, Sheffield, Leeds, Manchester, York, Lincoln, Milton Keynes, Northampton and Peterborough among them. Further afield is fine by arrangement. See our where we work pages for more.
